Discipline
Every scholar entering Penryn College is expected to strive towards the guidelines of the Courtesy Charter and abide by the behavioural expectations of the Disciplinary Policy. Copies of both of these are available in the download section below. Both structures were developed after intensive community discussion between scholars, staff and parents. The Coutresy Charter is a set of guidelines that outline the values and behaviours that we hold as sacrosanct. They are based on Christian principle (encompassing amongst other things the 10 commandments and the fruits of the spirit in Galatians 5:22) and also loosely on other charters elsewhere. While the behaviours listed in the Charter are not part of the Disciplinary Policy, repeated infringements of them will lead to formal disciplinary sanctions.
The Penryn Disciplinary Policy deals with all behavioural transgressions committed both within the College and outside of its boundaries where the name of the College is brought into disrepute. It encompasses both informal and formal consequences in a progressive system that hopefully leads to development, self discipline and behavioural adjustment. Where this is not the case however, more severe sanctions are outlined.
All scholars and their parents sign both of these documents as entrance requirements into the College.
