Application Process

(South African Citizen)

Welcome to the Penryn admissions process.

You may apply to Penryn at any time following the birth of your child. We accept children from age two into Grade 0000, the year they turn three, up to children turning 18 in their Grade 11 year.

Space in classes throughout the grades and in our boarding homes is limited, it is therefore advisable to complete and submit an application for your child as soon as possible.

All scholars applying to join Penryn benefit from our mainstream curriculum and it is therefore necessary to assess each application for admission. Successful enrolments are based on availability for the grade applied for and on the successful completion of an entrance assessment.

The enrolment process is as follows for both SA and Non SA Citizens:

Step 1

It is important to complete the application form thoroughly and to attach ALL required supporting documents (in PDF format). You will be requested to have the following support documents available during the online application process:

  • Copy of child’s birth certificate.
  • Copy of latest school report.
  • ID copy of parent responsible for school fee payment.
  • Utility bill (proof of residence)
  • Immunisation cards
  • Copy of both sides of your medical aid card. (If not on medical aid a signed letter confirming this)

Step 2

On receipt of your application Penryn will contact you to setup a date and time for your child to write our entrance assessment, a tour of our facilities and a meeting with our Headmaster or Deputy. Once the assessment has been marked you will be contacted with the outcome.

Step 3

Parents/Guardians will be notified via email in an official letter regarding their child’s acceptance. This letter will serve as an invoice for the once-off, non-refundable entrance fee.

Step 4

Payment of the entrance fee must be made by the due date specified in the acceptance letter to confirm/secure the scholar’s place for the next academic year or term (Please retain the proof of payment for record purposes). Defaulting on a due date will result in your child’s name being moved to a waiting list and might result in your child not being offered a placement for the required academic period.

Please note that study permit letters for any Non SA scholar will only be released after the full entrance fee amount is paid, this will assist you to apply for a valid study permit. No Non SA Scholar will be allowed to start their schooling without submitting a copy of this document to Penryn.

Please note that the submission of an application does not automatically guarantee acceptance to Penryn and if the grade for the year of registration is full, the applicant will be added to the waiting list and the parents will be notified.
