The annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic at Penryn Preschool was everything it should be, relaxed, joyful and filled with meaningful connections.
A much loved event on the preschool calendar, the picnic offers families an opportunity to slow down and spend quality time together while strengthening the sense of community that makes Penryn so special. It was wonderful to see familiar faces reconnect after the holidays, while new families were warmly welcomed into the Penryn family.

Set against the backdrop of a beautiful Lowveld evening, the event created the perfect atmosphere for fun and friendship. As the sun began to set, children ran, played and explored, while laughter echoed across the field and families enjoyed the simple pleasure of being together.

Adding to the excitement were Penryn’s Scholar Executive members, who enthusiastically assisted with face painting and joined in the fun with the younger children. Music, dancing and plenty of smiles kept the energy high throughout the evening.

A highlight of the event was the involvement of Tumbling Tigerz, whose lively demonstrations and interactive gross motor activities encouraged children to get moving, build confidence and enjoy active play.

Penryn Preschool was also proud to partner once again with Penreach. Families generously donated new and pre-loved toys for the Penreach Toy Library, helping to create opportunities for children across the wider community. This simple act of giving provided a valuable lesson in kindness, sharing and caring for others.
The Teddy Bears’ Picnic was a wonderful reminder of the warmth, belonging and community spirit that define Penryn Preschool. Events such as these continue to create lasting memories and strengthen the relationships that make Penryn feel like home.
